Our Collection of Antique Headdresses, Crowns and Tiaras and Theater Costumes
In my collection, I am fortunate to own a number of rare headdresses dating from 1880 to 1930. It is fascinating to imagine who once wore these extraordinary pieces—often, they adorned the most celebrated actresses of their time. Icons such as Sarah Bernhardt, Mata Hari, and Cléo de Mérode dazzled on stage wearing specially designed headdresses, crafted to complement their roles and costumes.
The craftsmanship of that era is truly unmatched. The intricate details and luxurious execution of these antique jewels rank among the finest ever created. Compared to today’s stage accessories, modern designs pale in comparison to the grandeur and uniqueness of these historical masterpieces. Back then, nothing was too extravagant, lavish, or exclusive. Not only performers wore these works of art, but also the wealthy elite who attended grand events, immersing themselves in the spectacle of the time.
Watch the video and imagine what it must have been like over a century ago. These antique adornments have a soul—they have survived the passage of time and are now incredibly rare, often preserved in private collections or museums.
One of the most remarkable pieces in my collection is an extraordinary headdress from Paris, circa 1890. What makes this set so unique are the wing-like details on either side and the diamond-studded chain that elegantly drapes beneath the chin, adorned with gemstones in a rare and stunning color combination. A matching necklace completes the set. The condition is so remarkably pristine that it appears as though it has just come from a Parisian boutique.
Some of my pieces are still worn with great care for performances, shows, photoshoots, and exclusive events—a tribute to the grandeur of a bygone era.
